ServiceDrink machines Installation & water management

Before we connect your machine up, it’s important that your potable water source has been checked to prevent corrosion, limescale and other damage from the outset. Poor water management is one of the most common reasons for machine failure and it is far easier to prevent than fix. We can test your water supply, install an appropriate filter and adjust it to ensure only suitable water enters your machine.

Getting the power supply right is also critically important. Many smaller machines can plug straight into a standard 13-amp socket, but larger, high-capacity machines with big boilers may require higher amps through single or three-phase supply.

Once we know the water and electrics are right, we’ll set up the machine, ensuring the perfect grind is complemented by the perfect extraction to achieve an excellent espresso, which is the foundation of all speciality coffees. Most coffee drunk in the UK has milk added to it, so we’ll also check steam wands or automatic milk-foamers because Lattes and Cappuccinos need a precise combination of steamed and foamed milk. All our carefully selected technicians are there to assist in your success.

ServiceCoffee machine Ongoing repairs and maintenance

Once you have a professionally installed and commissioned coffee machine, and staff trained to operate it, protect your investment and ensure consistently great coffee for many years with an on-going maintenance plan. We apply the same high level of expertise to maintain your machines as we do to install them.

Caffesmith also offers preventative maintenance programmes to revitalise your machine.

One of the most common reasons for machine failure is poor water management, and it is far easier to prevent than fix. Caffesmith is happy to test your water supply, install the right filter, and adjust it to ensure only appropriately filtered water enters your machine, even if you don’t need ongoing support. Some companies just send you a filter, but without testing the water and calibrating the filter you may not be maximising its effectiveness.

Service Boiler Inspections

If you own or use a coffee machine that falls in scope of the Pressure System Safety Regulations 2000 you have a legal duty to ensure the coffee machine is compliant. The regulations state that the primary duty holders for compliance are the users and owners of the pressure system (coffee machine). They have a legal duty to ensure the machines are operated safely, serviced and maintained and examined at set frequencies in accordance with a Written Scheme of Examination which begins prior to first use. You must keep records of all activities.

The aim of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 is to prevent serious injury from the hazard of stored energy (pressure) as a result of the failure of a pressure system or one of its component parts.

If you’re unsure, please contact us for advice.
